Our auto algorithm establishes a baseline of patient flow based on a moving flow signal window. An apnea is a pause in breathing, lasting 10 or more seconds. It is represented by the number of apnea and hypopnea events per hour of sleep. The apneas pauses in breathing must last for at least 10 seconds and are associated with a decrease in blood oxygenation.
Combining AHI and oxygen desaturation gives an overall sleep apnea severity score that evaluates both number sleep disruptions and degree of oxygen desaturation low blood level. The AHI is calculated by dividing the number of apnea events by the number of hours of sleep.
With AHI, a lower number is better; any number under 5. Your AHI number displayed in DreamMapper will fluctuate and change every day based on your breathing the night before. The AHI number displayed in DreamMapper will fluctuate and change every day based on your breathing the night before. Your goal is to obtain an AHI as close to 0. Any number under 5. The night with the lowest AHI value since the time of registration.
The average AHI value based on the displayed window of time. The window on the web app defaults to 14 days but can be changed to 30, 60 or 90 days.
The mobile apps display 7 days. During the apnea, one or more pressure test pulses are delivered by the device. The device evaluates the response of the patient to the test pulse s and assesses whether the apnea has occurred while the patient has a clear airway or an obstructed airway. The airway is determined to be clear if the pressure test pulse generates a significant amount of flow; otherwise the airway is determined to be obstructed.
When the airway is clear then a Clear Airway Apnea event is recorded. When the airway is obstructed then an Obstructed Airway Apnea event is recorded. The AHI measures residual apnea, a number lower than 5 shows that you have been corrected. The lower this number, the better is the correction. However, if it is higher, it is necessary to try to understand why. There are several reasons for this:.
If the index stays at 15 or is greater than 15, you should contact your doctor again to undergo sleep monitoring with the mask in order to determine the source of the problem. Mask Fit is a measurement of how well the mask contacts your face.
When the mask moves away from your face, leaks result and Mask Fit decreases in value. A higher Mask Fit value is preferred. The night with the highest Mask Fit value since the time of registration. But when I got a new phone, all that changed. Now the app won't pair with my Bluetooth no matter what I do.
I followed the tips in the app and it still won't work. It hasn't connected to my machine in over 2 months now. I wish the developers would fix it. Sep 21, By Michael Evans. The app was working fine up until Nov. It tells me new data has been found and uploaded, but nothing updates. Now the app keeps logging me out. When I go to sign in again, it asks me for my device serial number. So annoying, since the serial no. Continues to constantly ask me to input serial number of the device.
Bluetooth Pairing Never Works Jun 26, By Threecardqueen. Then unpaired both devices, then turned Bluetooth back on on both devices and then followed instructions in the DreamMapper app to pair the devices and I get an error message in the app every time. I have uninstalled the app and followers the above steps multiple times. It always ends the same in the settings in my phone it shows as paired, in my setup on my BiPap is shows paired in the app it gives me the error and shows blue tooth as not connected and will not refresh.
It is upsetting because my dreamstation is not keeping accurate data on how much I am sleeping. It always says 0. I always put my mask on when I lay down to go to sleep and take it off when I wake up generally 10 or 11 hours later.
Even when the app worked right back in pairing the device took a lot of attempts. Nov 10, By Hollie Apple. This app is nearly useless. I'm constantly having to uninstall and re-install for the data to sync, and then it skips large chunks of time. Completely ineffective at tracking anything. It's quicker and less aggravating to just check the machine itself more. Oct 18, This app is not working properly.
Keeps telling me that the data is outdated. I did all the steps required according to instructions, but it stays in the same position. October 14th was my last update since then is blank and won't update no matter what I do. I unpaired the device and paired it again but still no update in the data.
Please fix this By Tinkerbell I have been using my B-pap machine for over 2 months now. I do not have any problem with my machine but this app is deplorable and absolutely useless. I would give it minus stars if I could! Forget about contacting the brilliant minds that came up with the app.
This is what this pathetic app is supposed to be doing. That is of course when it decides to record anything at all. Nov 19, By Tena J. App worked great for 2 weeks I loved how it told me how I slept or not. Now it makes me login and rescan everyday. I did that twice in the beginning but since it continues to log me in then out multiple times per week it's frustrating.
Unreliable Bluetooth connectivity Mar 29, By Natasha At first it was great. Then after a few nights for no reason it would no longer connect automatically through Bluetooth. I went through the tedious process of unpairing and then re pairing, all seemed fine. And then a few nights later it happened again. Last night as I was going to bed I allowed the app to do the update that specifically said it was an update to correct the Bluetooth bugs.
This morning I woke up to the same message of check Bluetooth connection. I unpaired and re paired several time. Then followed the directions found in the app to delete the app and then reinstall the app. See all negative reviews. See All Community Reviews. No reviews available See All Expert Reviews. Major Bluetooth connectivity issues Nov 1, By Beatlemom When you can actually get Bluetooth to connect and your sleep data to download, then the information is very useful.
My problem is keeping a Bluetooth connection. This has been going on for months. It will not hold the connection. It is not my iPhone because Bluetooth stays connected for everything else. There was a recent Dreammapper app update around October 27th and now it will not connect at all! Yesterday I went through the same process of clearing the pairing on phone and machine.
This time I also uninstalled the app itself from my phone. Unplugged the machine and turned off my phone. Turned machine and phone back on, installed the app again, and went through the pairing process. I did this 3 times before it finally connected and downloaded my data. I just do not have the time to do this every single day. Developers- you have a good app as far as the data available to track your sleep; however unless you can correct the Bluetooth connectivity problems we can actually download it, the app is useless.
By Happy2 Sleep 'like a baby'. I would have given up on that mask without their intervention. I appreciate your online short instructional videos. Thankyou for the info. However, the next morning I woke up congested snd the next day developed a fever. It could be coincidental, but I am also going to put your video training techniques into daily practice. Overall, The sleep therapy has been appreciated - by my husband - I sleep very quietly now.
And I am generally refreshed. Blows ResMed app away Jul 14, However, the ResMed app is a joke. Phillips app is so much better. And even when it works, it takes hours before your sleep data shows up. And they store your data on ResMed servers for a year. The app connects immediately, privately, and gives you way more data. And maybe the next generation of DreamStation could have a more compact version in black, similar to the AirSense Thank you!
What happened? Feb 10, By nkerr. I have been using for 2years and other than the occasional hiccup when you need to change passwords without it telling you has been fine until Saturday. I got the blue circle of death and then try again later. After this continued to happen I checked Bluetooth which said was paired. I uninstalled and reinstalled which then took me to a Phillips webpage. I go to login and it says no account under that email. Another tab on Phillips page looks like it tries to take you to a login page and then misfires.
I called Phillips and they said they are having issues but the people that work on the app and sleep machine side of business don't work on weekends. Alrighty then. I guess we will get to you when we get to you applies even though they have thousands of customers. By Dr Mike 1. Suddenly, my iPhone is unable to connect to my Dreamstation. I have the latest software version. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it. I have paired it twice.
I have done two hard resets on my phone. See all 5 reviews. Works fine but use improved ergonomics. Oct 14, By Xyzzy The app loads well and features a compact weekly summary of relevant information. Swiping left shows the previous week. It does not have analytical views over larger time frame such as 30 days or 6 months. I'm looking for software that's intuitive and easy to use and work with.
After switching to a MacBook Pro laptop and installing the Mac version of the Data Card Uploader on my laptop, I'm finding that while the card uploader app sees and recognizes the SD card sitting in my Mac's card reader, it's giving me an error message that it can't upload the data from the card to the mydreammapper.
It advises me to either upgrade to the newest data card uploader software, which I'm assuming is what is available at the DreamMapper download site I used to download the data card uploader app, or to contact Phillips tech support. I contacted Phillips tech support both via email and also on their online chat at their site and have had no success with either method.
They never responded to my email and, even though the online chat indicates that my wait time for the next available agent is a minute, after waiting for almost a half an hour, I was never connected to an agent. So, I've decided that I'm done with DreamMapper also because I've read about other people having problems with the app and being unhappy and frustrated with it and would like to use a different application.
At the mydreammapper website, I can generate a report and see the data from previous uploads I did when I was using a Windows 10 laptop. I've read about the Sleepy Head app, but would like to get peoples' input and perspectives on it-- for example, does the Mac version of the software really work with a Mac OS, how intuitive is the software, and how easy is it to install and work with on a consistent basis?
I also see in the Sleepy Head tab at this Apnea Board Forum, there's a beta version available for download. Has anyone had any experience with this beta version? And, does it expire once it's out of beta mode, meaning that I would have to pay for a non-beta version?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sleepyhead is great it works well on the the Mac. A link to download is in my signature. Welcome to the forum rr4terps!! It took me a few hours to the day to understand the app. It has been working very well for me and I had no issues of downloading the app and blue-toothing to my phone. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I love that it shows the AHI, the hours of sleep time, and the mask fit. I also like the bar chart as well because it gives a perspective on my days of sleep.
I also look at it online where I can see the whole picture better. And then when you click on it a drop down window appears with all 12 months listed. This way you can select your month and click on the 30 day and see your data for that month and compare it to other months; oppose to using the arrows on each side to view past or future months.
It must have been a learning curve, because now it uploads automatically every morning. As soon as I turn my machine off, I literally just tap the DreamMapper app to open it, and syncing is automatic. It is a little quirky if you try to "do the most" in connecting your Bluetooth.
This is the only Bluetooth device that once connected will display the CPAP as both a connected and a connectable device listed twice, which creates confusion, and difficulty if you try to "fix" this. Just connect once, and open the app daily and it will auto sync. The app gives you: Sleep hours, apneas, hypopneas, and is searchable by week with bar graphs, comparing your nights.
