I can't recall ever having been so frustrated with a Samsung device. That was really the whole reason to purchase the tablet. Amazon is good with hardware tablets for reading and even viewing video. However, what's under the hood, CPU power, memory, etc I find truly lacking. Never again will I buy a Kindle, I'll always stick with Samsung tablets.
But I'm getting off track. I need to get this Amazon Appstore issue resolved. Can anyone help? Go to Solution. Make sure you first allow Chrome to install from unknown sources then once the Amazon Appstore is installed you'll have to do the same for that.
I literally just finished the process because there was one specific app I want on my tablet that I had purchased. Works like a charm.
View solution in context. Have you tried downloading it through the Google Play Store? There are Amazon apps ad nauseum, but not the specific "Amazon Appstore". However, I found a solution via another site following a Google search. I went to a site for downloading. I found a slightly older version of the Amazon Appstore and got it to install.
However, it works best if the tablet is NOT in Dex mode. When in non-Dex mode, the application shows up in the proper orientation and I'm now able to install Amazon apps and also access my existing Amazon coins, etc.
This includes primarily the Google Play Store. But apps can be downloaded also to your phone via the Amazon App Store or another source. But first you have to allow the installation outside of the Google Play store in Android. How it works on the Samsung Galaxy S6 we show you here:. Open from your home screen the menu and then the Android settings. Here you can now select the menu item "Lock screen and security". Scroll in this submenu a little way down until you can see "Unknown sources".
